Desert Reign Summer ProCity Tournament

The Desert Reign ProCity Basketball Tournament is one of the most anticipated basketball events in Las Vegas. For the last ten summers, the nation's top high school, college, semi-pro, and pro athletes compete in Sin City. We covered a few men and women's games at Doolittle Community Center this year. Fans packed the bleachers to watch basketball stars including Pierre Jackson, DeMarcus Cousins, Sequoia Holmes, Desi-Rae Young, Tylinn Carter, and Justin Holliday.

The energy in the gym was crazy. Everybody's anticipating the next high-flying dunk, 3-point shot, cross over or buzzer-beater. All the photographers and media outlets were locked-in trying not to miss a big play, myself included. Although these guys are playing for the community, it's really important that they get good exposure. For these athletes, the Desert Reign Tournament represents a chance to get noticed and launch their careers. Many players get the opportunity to play overseas. Some even go to the league.
